Genine M. Fidler
Biography
After a law career in New York and Baltimore specializing in personal service, taxation, trusts and estates, and nonprofit organizations, Genine Macks Fidler retired from the active practice of law to focus on philanthropic activities. She currently serves on the boards of several charitable foundations including the Louise D. and Morton J. Macks Family Foundation, Inc. where she serves as President. She is also a member of the Board of Brown RISD Hillel. Fidler was an American Civilization concentrator at Brown and a member of the Class of 1977. She played varsity lacrosse and squash and appeared in numerous dance and theatrical performances including work with Production Workshop and Sock and Buskin. She earned her J.D. degree cum laude in 1980 from the New York University School of Law where she also served as an editor of the NYU Law Review. Elected to the Board of Trustees in 2014, Fidler serves on the Corporation's Communications, Alumni and External Affairs Committee, and the Campus Life and Governance and Nominating committees. She is involved in the University's programs for mentoring, is co-chair of the President's Advisory Council on Internships, was a founding member and past co-chair of the Women's Leadership Council, and served as a mentor for the WLC's Women's Launch Pad, a program that facilitates mentoring relationships between alumnae and women in Brown's senior class. Genine Fidler is married to Josh Fidler '77 and the mother of Alexandra Metzl '04, Mica Fidler '12 and Drew Fidler, Skidmore '08.
