Biography
Frayda B. Lindemann is President Emeritus of the Metropolitan Opera and immediate past chairman of Opera America. Together with her late husband George Lindemann, she established the Lindemann Young Artist Development Program at the Metropolitan Opera. Previously, she served on the board of directors of Lincoln Center and the Palm Beach Opera. She is co-chair of the music advisory board at Hunter College and was the director and chairman of the executive committee of Young Concert Artists. Prior to her nonprofit work, Lindemann was an assistant professor of music history at Hunter College. She earned a bachelor's degree from Hunter College, and a Ph.D. in musicology from Columbia University.
